God does not like bad words to be made public unless someone has been wronged: He is all hearing and all knowing. (4.148)
People of the Book, do not go to excess in your religion, and do not say anything about God except the truth. (4.171)
O you who believe, fulfill the contracts. (5.1)
And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. (5.2)
And permissible for you in marriage are chaste believing women as well as chaste women of those given the Scripture before you—as long as you pay them their dowries in wedlock, neither fornicating nor taking them as mistresses. (5.5)
O believers! Stand firm for Allah and bear true testimony. Do not let the hatred of a people lead you to injustice. Be just! That is closer to righteousness. And be mindful of Allah. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what you do. (5.8)
You who believe, be mindful of God, seek ways to come closer to Him and strive for His cause, so that you may prosper. (5.35)
We have revealed to you this Book with the truth, as a confirmation of previous Scriptures and a supreme authority on them. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires over the truth that has come to you. To each of you We have ordained a code of law and a way of life. If Allah had willed, He would have made you one community, but His Will is to test you with what He has given each of you. So compete with one another in doing good. To Allah you will all return, then He will inform you of the truth regarding your differences. (5.49)
O believers! Take neither Jews nor Christians as guardians—they are guardians of each other. Whoever does so will be counted as one of them. Surely Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. You see those with sickness in their hearts racing for their guardianship, saying, “We fear a turn of fortune will strike us.” But perhaps Allah will bring about your victory or another favour by His command, and they will regret what they have hidden in their hearts. (5.51-52)
Your only guardians are Allah, His Messenger, and fellow believers—who establish prayer and pay alms-tax with humility. Whoever allies themselves with Allah, His Messenger, and fellow believers, then it is certainly Allah’s party that will prevail. (5.55-56)
You who believe, do not take as allies those who ridicule your religion and make fun of it- whether people who were given the Scripture before you, or disbelievers- and be mindful of God if you are true believers. (5.57)
Indeed, the believers, Jews, Sabians and Christians—whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good, there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve. (5.69)
Say, O people of the Book, be not excessive in your religion unjustly, and do not follow the desires of a people who have already gone astray, misled many and lost the right path. (5.77)
The disbelievers among the Children of Israel were condemned in the revelations of David and Jesus, son of Mary. That was for their disobedience and violations. They did not forbid one another from doing evil. Evil indeed was what they did! You see many of them taking the disbelievers as allies. Truly wicked are their misdeeds, which have earned them Allah’s wrath. And they will be in everlasting torment. Had they believed in Allah, the Prophet, and what has been revealed to him, they would have never taken those as allies. But most of them are rebellious. (5.78-81)
And you will certainly find that the people most hostile against the believers are the Jews and those who associate other deities with God. You will certainly find that the closest of them in friendship with the believers are those who say, “We are Christians.”That is because among them there are priests and monks, and because they are not arrogant.
